Attleborough Youth Orchestra
Registered Charity Number 1110258

Attleborough Youth Orchestra was established in 2004 and we are currently under the Baton of Anne Berry-Smith. We rehearse each Wednesday at Chapel Road School, Chapel Road, Attleborough from 6.30pm until 8.pm.during school term time.

Last year, 2006, we were lucky enough to be part of a European funded project that enabled us to record a disk. You can get your free copy by phoning 488694 and speaking to Stephen.

We are on the look out for new players that would like to join us. We are not so much a traditional orchestra more of a music group that play things like James Bond, Queen, Phantom of the Opera, TV themes and film music. So, if you’re aged between eight and sixteen and can play a few scales why not pop in to our rehearsals.

Do you play the violin, cello, how about bassoon, piccolo, or how about base or trombone?
With the exception of the recorder we would like to hear you play any instrument. (If you do play the recorder I can put you in touch with a recorder group)

Each year we hold a combined concert with Brian Dermott’s Norwich City Concert Band. This year we were also joined by the New Buckenham Silver Band and percussionists from across the county. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Youth of Attleborough to experience playing in a massed band.

AYO had a full diary over the Christmas period playing at several church services, Winter Fetes and collecting money for charity. Throughout the year we play at fetes and schools.

Attleborough Youth Orchestra is seeking a sponsor.
