Attleborough and District Young Farmers Club Having celebrated their 60th birthday in 2003 they are looking for young people between the ages of 10 and 30 to help the club go from strength to strength for the next 60 years. Young Farmers is different from most other youth organisations because we are run by the members for the members. The club caters for young people between the ages of 14 and 30 whose members also run the junior version "Countrysiders" for 10 to 16 year olds. If you have drive, enthusiasm, the ability to absorb copious amounts of fun and enjoy a seriously earthy night out YFC could be for you! You DON'T have to be a farmer, we come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions who live it large, play it hard and raise lots of money for charity. If you come and join us you will never be lonely, you will gain in confidence and make loads of new friends. We guarantee that there is something for everyone. Club members get involved in many activities including sports from football to tug-o-war to rounders, even snail racing! Competitions including club of the year, public speaking, ten pin bowling and quizzes. Socials are always fun with discos barbeques and balls held throughout the year. We meet every Tuesday evening at 8.00pm at Attleborough Football Club. Our meeting have included talks by a plastic surgeon, hypnotherapist and hedge layer. The club also goes on visits and have visited a paintbrush factory, pottery, bakery and windmill. The club is part of the community and takes part in the Carnival, Christmas Fair and quizzes and can be seen, two weekends a year, selling muck, yes good old Norfolk matured farm manure!, all in the name of charity, we even deliver it directly to your garden! Charity is what we do best, each year we nominate a charity and money raised throughout the year is donated to that charity. This year's chosen charity is Operation Santa Clause and we raise monies through our annual muck spread, carol singing and a raffle at our annual dinner dance.
