Hygiene:   Banham Poultry scored the highest hygiene rating of all UK poultry processors in the Meat Hygiene
Service’s annual assessments for 2003

Environment:   Banham Poultry is one of the first UK poultry processors to seek independent accreditation for its standards
of environmental management under ISO 14001

Energy efficiency:   Banham Poultry enjoys a Climate Change Levy rebate because the efficiency of its 2.4 megawatt
Combined Heat and Power plant at the Attleborough site allows hot water to be recycled for refrigeration and exports
electricity to the National Grid

Renewables:  The company was one of the first in the poultry industry to trial the use of biodiesel as a transport fuel

Process innovation:  Banham Poultry was among the first UK companies to adopt leakproof packaging for retail meat and
fully automated evisceration in its processing operation.
